Estimated circa 1950, this wooden polychrome carved chef pig statue stands 65 cm high, 25 cm wide and 24 cm deep, originates from the Netherlands, is unsigned and requires restoration.

Large pig statue, butcher shop statue.
Sold from the Netherlands.
Circa 1950
This statue is a vintage "Chef Pig" (cook-pig), a classic decorative piece that was often used as an advertisement sign for butchers or as a charming doorstop.
Today it would look fantastic in an outdoor kitchen or barbecue. Very suitable for the mancave as well.
Here are the main details of this specific item:
Material: woodcarving polychrome painted.
Function: Originally intended as a shop display or door stopper.
Features: The pig wears a traditional white chef’s coat, a tall chef’s hat, and often a polka-dotted neckerchief.
