Beautiful hand-carved wooden sculpture of a proud rooster, dating from the early 20th century. This characterful piece radiates strength and movement, with a dynamic pose where the rooster has one leg lifted and the tail feathers gracefully fanned out. Light damage to the leg.

The refined details in the comb, feathers and claws clearly show the artisan craftsmanship of the maker. The pronounced gouge and chisel marks give the sculpture a lively texture and emphasize the handiwork. The dark, warm patina enhances the authentic and well-worn character of this piece.
