Description from the seller
Robert Pierini (Biot) – Masterpiece "Intercalaire" Art Glass Vase with 24k Gold Leaf – 1990
Description:
Offered is a significant and rare work of studio glass by the acclaimed French master glassmaker Robert Pierini (born 1950). Created in 1990 at his prestigious studio in Biot, France, this piece represents the pinnacle of his technical experimentation during the late 20th century.
Technical Mastery:
The vase is executed using the complex "Intercalaire" (interlayer) technique. The internal decoration features a sophisticated landscape of ochre, crimson, and obsidian-black glass powders, meticulously layered between thick walls of crystal-clear glass. The composition is elevated by the inclusion of authentic gold leaf, which creates a shimmering, ethereal depth within the glass.
The most striking feature is the sculptural black glass cord that wraps around the body, providing a sharp, modern contrast to the organic, fluid interior. This is a Pièce Unique—a one-of-a-kind creation that cannot be replicated.

• Artist: Robert Pierini (Hand-signed on the base: R. Pierini 1990 G 02)
• Origin: Biot, Côte d'Azur, France
• Dimensions: Height 44 cm, Width 30cm and weight 10kg
