JonOne, Peinture sur papier, an original acrylic painting on paper, 70 × 50 cm, signed by hand, 2025, France, street art, Original edition, sold by Galerie.
Description from the seller
This painting on paper by JonOne vibrates with a rare graphic intensity, where graffiti becomes an instinctive and sensory language. The colors orange, yellow and green interlock with power, projected like bursts of energy on the matte surface of the support.
Each stroke erupts with force, conveying the artist's immediate gesture, captured in all its tension and spontaneity.
White splashes punctuate the composition, bringing visual breaths to the midst of this chromatic tumult perfectly controlled.
JonOne here prioritizes the intensity of movement, pigment saturation, and the collision of colors in a constant dialogue.
Unique work 1/1, available immediately at the gallery at 16 Place des Vosges, 75004 Paris.
Delivered with an invoice and a certificate of authenticity from the artist.
The XVI Art Gallery commits to packing and shipping it directly to your home, in France and abroad. Or, you can pick it up immediately at our gallery in Paris.
Biography of JonOne:
John Andrew Perello, better known as JonOne, is a graffiti artist and painter of Dominican origin.
He was born in New York in the sixties and grew up in the vibrant Harlem neighborhood.
From the age of seventeen, he began tagging trains and walls in his neighborhood, marking his beginnings in graffiti.
Self-taught, he later moved to a new support: the canvas.
Gradually, he moved from the street to the galleries, and his works are today exhibited worldwide.
His creations are deeply influenced by his personal journey, infused with hip-hop, urban culture, and the New York subway.
Moreover, he also draws on the codes of modern painting to enrich his visual language.
His style, both instinctive and thoughtful, transcends the classical rules of graffiti and street art.
He claims complete freedom in the act of creation.
Thus, he develops a “freestyle” painting, liberated from any formal or narrative constraint.
In 1987, JonOne relocated to Paris.
This move marked a decisive turning point.
There, he met a variety of artists, such as Speedy Graphito or LAII, broadening his artistic universe.
From then on, he devoted himself fully to conquering the canvas.
In his works, space is saturated. There is no emptiness.
Color becomes vital energy. His palette, rich and contrasted, expresses subtle plays of light and matter.
The forms, sometimes wavy, sometimes straight, cross in a spontaneous yet balanced composition.
His paintings mingle symmetry and disorder, repetition and unity, rigor and fluidity.
Each canvas is an abstract, joyful improvisation, where everything seems alive and in motion.
Rapidly, JonOne made a name for himself in the Paris art scene.
He has delighted both critics and collectors.
Today, his fame extends far beyond specialized circles. Indeed, he has developed numerous collaborations with major brands such as Lacoste, Hennessy, Air France, and Perrier.
