Description from the seller
Art Deco Pendant Lamp – Frosted and Engraved Glass – France – ca. 1930
Elegant and original Art Deco hanging lamp from the 1930s, executed in frosted molded glass with acid-etched and wheel-engraved decoration.
The shade has a distinctive hexagonal form with softly rounded edges. The decoration consists of stylised thorn branches and geometric circular motifs — a classic Art Deco combination of natural abstraction and symmetry. The design is deeply cut and polished, creating a refined contrast between matte and glossy surfaces when illuminated.
The glass has a warm peach/rosé tone when lit, typical of French interwar decorative lighting.
The lamp is suspended by twisted cords converging into a silk-wrapped canopy element, characteristic of early 20th-century French fixtures. The original suspension concept remains intact, though the electrical fitting appears later and can easily be replaced if desired.
Period:
Circa 1925–1935
Origin:
France
Materials:
• Frosted molded glass
• Acid-etched and engraved decoration
• Twisted suspension cords
• Metal fitting
Condition:
Good vintage condition.
Minor age-related surface wear and light scratches consistent with age.
No visible cracks or structural damage to the glass.
Electrical system should be checked by a professional before installation.
