Order of the Red Star – Early Soviet Military Decoration (USSR)

A highly collectible and historically significant original Order of the Red Star (Орден Красной Звезды), one of the most iconic military decorations of the Soviet Union.

Instituted in 1930, the Order of the Red Star was awarded for exceptional service in the defense of the USSR in both wartime and peacetime. It is strongly associated with World War II (Great Patriotic War), where it was bestowed upon soldiers, officers, security personnel, and even entire units for bravery, outstanding leadership, and distinguished service.

This example features:
	•	Classic five-pointed red enamel star
	•	Central silver medallion depicting a Red Army soldier with rifle
	•	Surrounding inscription: “Пролетарии всех стран, соединяйтесь!” (“Workers of the world, unite!”)
	•	“СССР” at the bottom with hammer and sickle emblem
	•	Traditional screw-back construction

Condition:
Original period piece with visible age and patina. The enamel shows wear and losses consistent with authentic field use, especially on the upper arm of the star. The silver elements display natural toning. Overall, an honest and untouched example with strong historical character.
