Decorative ornament - Italy

This sculpture is an antique decorative element in walnut wood, finely carved, depicting a putto (or cherub) among foliate scrolls and Baroque motifs.

Made in Italy at the end of the early 20th century, it was an architectural element, part of a cimasa or sopraporta of a sideboard or bench.

It recalls Baroque or Neo-Renaissance style, with vegetal motifs and classical figures.

Good condition with normal signs of time and wear, note old woodworm holes; it has already undergone an initial treatment...

The dimensions are 67 cm wide by 40 cm high.
