Superb and very rare cigarette box in brass designed by Max Korner with etched lid depicting a surrealist inspired landscape of floating ships around a castle with various semi abstract design elements; Sides are brass and interior is lined with cedar wood. The brass bottom of the box has the lion stamp logo of Erhard & Söhne. Box is in excellent condition and is a rare and highly collectible type Max Korner (1887-1963) was a graphic artist known for his progressive designs using elements of Art Nouveaun Art Deco and Surrealist inspired styles.
