Description from the seller
A0000003668
Vintage Parker Moderne set consisting of a fountain pen and a mechanical pencil in swirled marbled celluloid, preserved in very good overall condition with an aesthetically especially attractive presence thanks to the combination of deep brown tones and amber marbled, characteristic of Parker productions from the late 1930s.
The celluloid maintains a natural, very pleasant shine and good color depth. The veining is marble-like with great definition, showing a well-preserved material that preserves the chromatic richness typical of this type of early resins. Both bodies show light micro signs of use in line with their age, without cracks, deformation, or noticeable material loss.
The engravings on the barrel remain clearly visible and legible, including the inscription “Geo. S. Parker – Parker Moderne – Made in Canada”, which adds historical and collecting interest to the set.
The fountain pen cap preserves its firm structure, with the original Parker clip finished in ball. The metal elements show slight superficial wear typical of the passage of time, still maintaining a very correct aesthetic presence.
The original Parker 14-karat gold nib, engraved Parker – Quink – 14K – Canada, is well preserved, without visible deformations and with proper alignment. The fountain pen has been serviced and is delivered operational, ready for use.
The mechanical pencil maintains its shape and correct proportions, with the mechanism functional and the metal tip in good condition, showing only light marks consistent with normal use over decades.
Overall, this is a well-preserved Parker Moderne set, attractive for both collection and use, that preserves its original characteristics, its vintage aesthetics, and its structural integrity after more than eight decades since manufacture.
It will be shipped in a courtesy box for proper conservation.
