Description from the seller
Hollow gold cross with flared arms, the centre and each arm with rope pattern filigree surrounding a round red garnet. A wide ridged loop at the top for suspension.
Size: 3.3 cm L (including loop) - 1 5/16 inch
Material: Gold and garnet, total weight= 4.2 grms
Culture: Byzantine, c. 10th-11th Century A.D.
Condition: Intact
Provenance: French lady’s collection, acquired in Paris prior to 2000.
