Description from the seller
Panasonic EB-G51M, a mobile phone launched in 2003. It is a more modern and miniaturized evolution compared to the GD35.
Memory Capacity
- Unlike previous models, the G51M offered somewhat more advanced data management for its time:
- Internal Phonebook: Could store up to 250 contacts in the phone memory, in addition to those stored on the SIM.
- SMS Messages: Could store up to 50 SMS messages on the device.
- Dynamic Memory: Had a small amount of internal memory for customizations, such as polyphonic ringtones and operator logos.
- No Expansion: There was no slot for external memory cards (SD or MicroSD).
Key Features
- Micro Size: It was famous for being one of the smallest phones in the world, weighing only 74 grams.
- Color Display: Unlike the GD35, the G51M mounted a CSTN display with 4,096 colors.
- Connectivity: Supported GPRS Class 8 and had a WAP 1.2.1 browser for very basic internet browsing.
- Multimedia: Supported 40-tone polyphonic ringtones, but did not have a camera.
Strengths:
- Miniaturization: It was one of the smallest and lightest phones ever produced (74 grams), giving it a unique charm in the vintage tech landscape.
- Color Display: Compared to monochrome models, the presence of a color screen and polyphonic ringtones makes it an interesting transitional tech artifact.
- Rarity: Being a niche model even at the time, it is less common than the big Nokia or Motorola classics, maintaining more stable prices.
