Tapis / tapisserie Art Deco – École d’Amsterdam – Anton Hamaker – Pays-Bas – vers 1920–1925
Rare rectangular velvet rug in the distinctive style of the Amsterdam School, attributed to the Dutch designer Anton Hamaker.
The composition features a geometric motif typical of the Amsterdam School movement, combining different textures and textile structures in an elegant palette of beige, brown, red and black. This strong decorative style sits within the Art Deco and Expressionist aesthetics developed in the Netherlands in the 1920s.
The velvet work and the graphic assembly of the motifs give the piece an architectural and modern look, representative of Dutch textile design of the interwar period.
