DESIGN NUTS - Bookends
Pair of sculptural cubes carved from solid wood, conceived as collectible design objects rather than simple home accessories.
The form is reduced to the essential: the cube as a primary, stable, measured volume.
The reference to the nut is present abstractly through circular inserts in light wood, distributed across the surfaces with a controlled rhythm. An iconic mark familiar to the eye is thus removed from its playful function and transformed into formal language.
The finish deliberately leaves the material visible: grain, color variations and slight irregularities are not concealed but become an integral part of the object. Each face is different, making each cube unique and non-replicable.
The compact dimensions (14 × 14 × 14 cm) concentrate the visual and material weight of the object, allowing its use as:
- sculptural elements to rest on
- tactile accents on tables, shelves or consoles
- collectible objects in contemporary interiors, minimalist or wabi-sabi.
The cubes interact with space in a quiet yet decisive way, without seeking a traditional decorative role. They are designed for contexts where design is chosen for presence and identity, not for immediate function.
