Ulisse Caputo (Salerno, November 4, 1872 – Paris, October 13, 1948) was an Italian painter.

He was born in Salerno to Ermenegildo and Francesca San Martino. His father, a scenographer and theatre decorator, steered him toward an artistic career. He studied at the Istituto di Belle Arti di Napoli, where he attended the drawing school of Stanislao Lista and the painting school of Domenico Morelli. He also attended the studio of fellow poet-painter Gaetano Esposito. When in 1897, at the Third Milan Triennial Exhibition, and at the Promotrice Napoli exhibition "Salvator Rosa", his works were not appreciated, he decided to move to Paris, where he established himself and produced works that appeared with success in the era’s most important exhibitions. He received recognitions and official assignments, such as a mission to Morocco in 1914, commissioned by the French government. He lived in Paris until his death in 1948.
