Description from the seller
Vintage Fire-Resistant Document and Cash Safe – UNIMART ALL-SAFE Security Box – c. 1954 – with key and test certificate
Nice and original vintage fire-resistant document- and cash-safe from the 1950s. This model is the UNIMART ALL-SAFE Security Box, produced for United Cutlery and Hardware Products Co., New York.
What is special about this specimen is the original test certificate from American Testing Laboratories (New York), dated May 25, 1954. This document describes the fire test in which the safe was exposed for one hour to temperatures up to about 500°F (±260°C). The papers in the box remained intact.
The box has a characteristic hammered green metal finish with a red interior, typical for security safes from that period. The original key is present and the lock works correctly.
Inside there are guides for a coin or document drawer. The safe is sturdy and intended for securely storing important papers, money, or valuable documents.
Condition: Good vintage condition with normal signs of use appropriate to the age. See photos for a complete picture of the condition.
