Description from the seller
Designer glass vase – Martin Bergström for IKEA – Limited Edition
Elegant vase in blown glass with a contemporary design, characterized by a slender shape with a narrow neck and a slightly rounded cylindrical body. The transparent glass is crossed by dynamic black spiral decorations and abstract drips that create a highly scenographic graphic effect, making each piece unique and decorative even without flowers.
This vase was designed by Swedish designer Martin Bergström for IKEA, within the framework of special collections created in collaboration with international artists and designers. These productions, often in limited runs, combine the aesthetics of contemporary art with the functionality of domestic design.
The vase belongs to a line now out of production and today sought after by collectors of Scandinavian design and vintage IKEA objects, whose value in recent years has grown thanks to interest in limited editions and collaborations with designers.
Made in thick glass and handcrafted, it features an internal black, fluid and irregular motif that makes each piece slightly different from the others. A decorative object with great presence, perfect both as a vase for floral arrangements and as a sculptural element to furnish modern or minimalist spaces. Some similar pieces from the same line are today offered on the vintage market as rare design items.
