The Earth and Its Peoples, 5 parts from 1876 to 1880. Published in Haarlem by H.D. Tjeenk Willink. Haarlem, The volumes look good, with some rust stains here and there. Numerous wood engravings in the text and full-page, depicting local clothing, architecture, portraits, lithographed maps across the pages, colored within the outlines, table of contents. The Earth and Its Peoples, illustrated Volksblad. Annually published Dutch-language illustrated magazine in which the Dutch public is informed about formerly lesser-known parts of the world, indigenous populations, culture, customs and manners of, among others, Russia, Greece, Colombia and other regions and countries. The magazine can be seen as a pastiche of the French equivalent Le Tour du Monde. Photos are part of the description.
