Steinway refers to the classical beauty of a Steinway piano. In 2014, Montblanc honoured the true master of piano manufacturing, Henry E. Steinway. German born Steinway, first started making pianos in his kitchen, before he immigrated to the US to set up a company which would become a name that is truly synonymous with exquisite pianos. The pen features the traditional black and gold colour scheme found on a Steinway grand piano. The cap is decorated with the very heart of the instrument, the harp or overstring piano. The shape of the gold-plated clip is a reference to the screw clamps used for the bending the piano rim into shape. The name ‘Steinway & Sons’ is engraving on the piston cone ring.
