Two-volume illustrated Dutch edition of Cruydt-Boeck by Rembertus Dodonaeus, Leiden 1608, Geïllustreerde druk, hardback, 38 × 24 cm, about 1580 pages, containing ca. 1475 engravings, in fair condition with internal discoloration and worm damage and restorations noted.

Cruydt-Boeck, according to its latest improvements: With marginal notes after each chapter, from various herb writers: Item in the latest a Description of the Indian Plants, mostly taken from the writings of Carolus Clusius - Leiden, Plantin Press of Françoys van Ravelingen, 1608 - 2 parts - (8) 830; 831-1580 (79) pp - modern hardcover
Reasonable. Interior browned; small piece missing, a crack, about 1 to 2 cm, in the margin of about 50 pages
Part 1: New endpapers. Edges of the half-title repaired, title page repaired and reinforced on the verso. Edges of the following pages repaired/frayed.
Interior browned, moisture spots on all pages: mainly moisture streak along the top margin and moisture spots along the bottom margin, on the first pages up to 250 also bleeding into the text and into the outer margin (see the many photos). Wormhole (a few mm) at the bottom of the text from page 690 to the end, as well as worm-streaks above the text between 783 and 804
2: original half-title missing / photocopy bound in. Hole in the bottom margin of 8 leaves. Wormhole (a few mm) at the bottom of the text (or in the engraving) from the start to page 981 from page 983 two wormholes to the end - between 1258 and 1329 the lower wormhole becomes a thick worm-streak of about 1 cm; from pages 1461 to 1488 a worm-streak between the two wormholes; worm-streak, 1.5 cm in the last 10 register leaves. Edges of 11 register leaves repaired, edges of 12 register leaves frayed. Moisture stain on the lower half of all pages.
