An antique Sheffield jug named Claret Jug, a type of decanter used between the late 19th and early 20th century to serve red wine (claret).
The decanter features a material combination typical of the Victorian or Edwardian era.
Made of crystal, it is decorated with diamond motifs and vertical cuts to enhance the brilliance of its contents.
The neck, the handle, and the hinged lid are usually made of silver-plated metal, as in Sheffield plate..
