Description from the seller
Title: Floral Still Life
School: European School (20th century)
Style: Late Impressionist / Floral Naturalism
Technique: Oil on canvas:
Magnificent floral still life with a wide and dynamic composition, where a lush arrangement of flowers sits on a partially green-toned cloth-covered table. On the left stands a leafy bouquet in a jar, while to the right the flowers extend horizontally in a looser, more spontaneous display, generating a sense of movement and depth.
The chromatic palette combines coral tones, pearly whites, intense blues, and vibrant yellows, contrasting with a neutral gray background that enhances the luminosity of the ensemble. The brushwork is loose, visible, and gestural, especially in the petals and in the treatment of the foliage, evoking an impressionist sensibility. The artist handles light with quick, opaque touches, achieving texture and volume without losing compositional freshness.
The scene conveys naturalness and elegance, with an asymmetrical composition carefully balanced to provide dynamism and visual sophistication.
The work is presented framed in a carved gilded wooden frame, with classical moulding and perimeter relief decoration. The gilded finish features a warm tone that harmonizes with the floral colors and enhances the decorative character of the piece. Traditional-style frame, suitable to the artwork’s aesthetics.
The frame comes as a gift. It may show damage during transport even with proper packaging.
Measurements:
With frame: 91 x 125.8 cm
Without frame: 81 x 116.5 cm
Notes:
Good overall condition in line with its age.
Exceptionally, shipping costs may be affected by a surcharge due to factors such as being outside a continental territory, excessive dimensions, or weight of the item. PremiArt will not cover this surcharge.
Due to border issues with Switzerland, we are obliged to inform that shipments exceeding 1 meter in length or height to that destination will not be made.
The artworks are shipped uninsured and, if insurance for transport is desired, it must be requested in advance by private message. If not requested, we will not be responsible for any damages that may have occurred during transport.
