Today at the auction we offer you
A unique mosaic ceramic vase, created by the famous French ceramicist Jean Gerbino (1876–1966) in the town of Vallauris.
Here are key details about this object:
Technique: The vase is made using Gerbino's original method, which combines mosaic techniques with nériage (mixing colored clay masses). The process involves arranging intricate patterns from colored clay, which after firing form a smooth, almost "stone-like" surface.
Origin: These works were produced in the workshop in Vallauris, France, mainly during the Art Deco period and in the 1930s and 1940s.
Notable features: Each piece is unique due to the hand-arranged patterns. These vases are usually signed on the bottom with the stamp "Gerbino" and "Vallauris".
