20th‑century Art Déco table lamp with a pressed glass shade on a circular brass base, made in France, green glass, 23 cm high and 19 cm wide, in good used condition with minor signs of aging and a fully new electrical system in working order.
Description from the seller
Elegant table lamp, or task lamp, composed of a pressed-molded glass shade resting on a circular brass base. The model seduces with its sober, architectural silhouette, a striking decorative presence, halfway between Art Deco aesthetics and the decorative creations of the 20th century.
The shade adopts a softened conical-truncated shape, slightly flared at the bottom, with a cylindrical crown tightened at the top. The decor, very structured, alternates broad frosted satin glass reserves and relief motifs that are more translucent, creating a particularly successful contrast between matte and transparent surfaces.
The main motif consists of large ogival and lozenge shapes, arranged vertically all around the shade. These geometric reserves are enriched with frosted-looking zones, almost crystalline or hammered, which animate the surface and diffuse the light gently. The overall effect is a very decorative light, both subdued, graphic, and refined.
The lower mount is formed by a circular, stepped brass base with concentric risers, giving the piece a solid and elegant visual footing. The warm hue of the metal harmonizes with the soft tones of the glass, slightly tinged with celadon green / water green.
Dimensions:
Height: 23 cm
Diameter / width: 19 cm
Electrical:
The electrical system is entirely new, allowing immediate use under excellent operating conditions.
This task lamp presents a very beautiful balance between the sobriety of the lines, the decorative quality of the molded glass, and the warm presence of brass. It will suit both a classic interior and a more eclectic or modernist decor.
