Antique Kris (Keris) dagger with inscriptions from Thailand - 20th century

Antique Southeast Asian kris (keris) dagger with engraved blade and decoratively formed handle. The blade is made of forged iron and shows inscriptions or symbolic marks. The handle has a traditionally formed, sculptural shape as is common with Indonesian krisses.

The kris was traditionally used in Thailand as a protective object.

The item shows clear signs of aging, patina and deformation, which contribute to its character and authenticity.

Antieke Zuidoost-Aziatische kris (keris) dolk met gegraveerde kling en decoratief gevormd handvat. De kling is vervaardigd uit gesmeed ijzer en vertoont inscripties of symbolische tekens. Het handvat heeft een traditioneel gevormde, sculpturale vorm zoals vaak voorkomt bij Indonesische krissen.
