Item Description
This is a luxurious and rare Korean Najeonchilgi (螺鈿漆器 / Najeon Lacquerware) Seal Stone Set crafted by renowned Korean Najeonchilgi artist Oh Jae-in (呉在仁). The set combines the beauty of traditional Korean mother-of-pearl lacquer artistry with a collection of three premium natural stone seal blanks (inzai) made from Tiger's Eye (虎目石 / Torameyishi).
The magnificent Najeonchilgi presentation box is lacquered in lustrous black and adorned with an intricate mother-of-pearl (raden) inlay scene depicting cranes, pine trees, deer, and traditional Korean landscape motifs — classic auspicious symbols representing longevity, nobility, and good fortune. The iridescent abalone shell pieces shimmer with an ever-changing rainbow of colour as the light shifts, making the lid a work of art in its own right. The interior is lined with rich crimson velvet, cradling the contents in an elegant presentation.
The set contains:

3 Tiger's Eye seal blanks (small, medium, and large) — unused and in pristine condition. In Japan, Tiger's Eye is traditionally prized as a stone of good fortune and prosperity, making these seal stones especially meaningful for use or gifting.

Overall condition is very good; the Najeonchilgi lacquer box and all seal stones are well preserved with only minor light scuffs or superficial scratches consistent with careful storage. The seal stones are unused. The inkpad case has no ink inside.

Artist Profile
呉在仁 Oh Jae-in — A Korean Najeonchilgi (mother-of-pearl lacquerware) artist with a professional career spanning several decades. Oh Jae-in studied traditional Korean lacquer inlay techniques and has exhibited his work widely in Korea and internationally. His works are known for their refined execution of classical Korean landscape and auspicious motifs — cranes, pine trees, and mountain scenery — rendered in finely cut abalone shell inlay on polished black lacquer grounds. A certificate of authenticity with the artist's biography and representative works is included with this set.
