Description from the seller

Pair of carved solid walnut lions, originating from an antique 19th-century piece of furniture, today reinterpreted as decorative sculptures or sturdy bookends.

The warm, dense wood enhances the strength of the carving: flowing manes, slightly parted jaws, and a proud gaze give a surprising realism. Each specimen weighs about 4 kg, ensuring stability and dramatic presence. Perfect as ornaments, bookends, or furniture accents on either side of an entryway or a bookshelf, they add a touch of classical majesty.

Note the original mounting point still visible on the head, evidence of their original function. A defect in the paw is clearly visible in the photo.

Seller's Story

I have always been passionate about our past, knowing it is the only thing that does not cease the connection between what is and what was. When I reached the right age I understood that my passion had to coincide with my work and so I opened a business. The key principles are quality and love towards the customer. Francesco Secondo
