Pair of decorative figures in gilded wood – Baroque style – late 19th / early 20th century

Description:
Pair of carved and gilded wood decorative elements depicting female figures in flowing dresses, in dynamic poses, with Baroque-style ornamental elements.

The figures are placed on richly shaped bases with volute motifs and Rococo decorations. The gilding, original, shows a beautiful antique patina with evident signs of wear that attest to their age and use.

The workmanship is attributable to a late 19th – early 20th century decorative production, inspired by Baroque and Rococo models, intended for interior furnishings.

Condition:
- widespread wear to the gilding
- visible abrasions and gaps
- small losses and signs of time
- conditions consistent with age
