Daphnis and Chloe with images by Maillol in a special edition of the Dietrich Collection (1966), in which only 450 numbered copies were printed on handmade laid paper (as well as 40 unnumbered copies that were not intended for sale).
Special edition of the volume "Daphnis and Chloe by the Greek author Longus (Longos), which was printed in German in 1966 by Schünemann Verlag – enriched with woodcuts by Aristide Maillol.

The fringed margins are typical (rag paper) – as a contrast the upper edge is gilded.
The spine is leather-bound.

This book was produced in close imitation of the original edition Les Pastorales de Longus ou Daphnis et Chloé, Version d'Amyot revised and completed by P.-L. Courier, Paris 1937, Gonin.
