Ceramic piece with an estimated period of 1970–1980.
Description from the seller
Refined and elegant boat-shaped centerpiece in tin-glazed maiolica, crafted and entirely hand-painted by master ceramist Franco Zauli in Faenza, the beating heart of Italian ceramic tradition.
The object stands out for the complexity of its form and the richness of its decoration:
Design: The body features a wavy, pierced rim, adorned with two majestic double-curved handles that give the composition a sculptural and dynamic character.
Decoration: The interior is finely adorned with a central polychrome floral bouquet, where peonies and anemones stand out in shades of purple, ochre, and blue. A particularly valuable detail is the presence of a dragonfly painted with meticulous care, a symbol of elegance and lightness. The rim is finished with a dense blue grid motif (typical of the Rouen tradition reinterpreted in Faenza) that frames the scene.
Base: It rests on a circular foot also decorated with floral motifs coherent with the main body.
Signature: Under the base is the autograph signature "Franco Zauli Faenza", which guarantees its origin and authenticity.
Epoch: Circa 1950-1960.
Origin: Faenza, Italy.
