Harley-Davidson - Sportster - 883 cc - 2000

2000 Customised Harley Davidson Sportster This 2000 Harley Davidson Sportster was modified by the local Harley Davidson Main Dealership in the style of a 1950s British motorbike. The bike is registered in Italy as a 1200cc 2 seater but now has an 883 engine fitted and a single seat. The engine had done 9000 km when the bike was rebuilt in 2016 and the bike has done less than 2600 km since then. This is a carburettor model, in keeping with its age. Mechanically the bike is perfect, starts at the first attempt, the engine runs sweet and even with plenty of acceleration. There is some surface rust on the chrome in various places, see the photos, but nothing to affect the operation of the bike. The tyres show signs of ageing with some fine cracks to the sidewall. The frame was modified by chopping the under seat supports. These supports are included with the sale in case a future owner would wish to return the bike to standard or back to a 2 seater. A box of spares is also included with a new set of rear shock absorbers, which makes it slightly higher at the rear, and various other items not used in the build. Current seat height is about 65cm. For Italian buyers, the transfer of ownership (passaggio di proprieta') is at their expense. For UK buyers, the bike is still registered in UK with the export marker not set so could, presumably, be easily imported or transported to UK and registered. However, this would be at the buyers risk and expense. There is a copy of the V5 but the original was handed over to the Italian Authorities when the bike was registered in Italy. For all overseas buyers, including UK, the bike will be deregistered for export from Italy at no expense to the buyer. Body and paint • Paintwork condition - Excellent, some chipping on the rear mudguard • Chrome condition - Corrosion present in some areas such as the risers, headlight rim, fork springs, front wheel • Condition of seat - Excellent, no damage • Condition of footrest and handlebar rubbers - excellent • Condition of tank - very good paint and overall condition Technical condition • Tyres show signs of age, brakes are perfect, belt drive in very good condition • Engine is perfect, clutch and gearbox work extremely well, very smooth with no oil leaks • The bike was serviced in 2025 • Starts first time with 2 turns of the accelerator, rides great, stops well, gears precise, a pleasure to use • Electricals - all lights are working • Revisione, inspection, MOT until 06/2027 Documentation • See photo of Italian libretto, copy of old UK V5, recepit from customisation carried out by local HD Main Dealer The motorbike is to be collected from the province of Lucca, Tuscany, Italy
