Tsuyoshi Maekawa, Work '91 (No. 9192), a 1991 multicolour abstract silkscreen in 76 × 57 cm, hand-signed and dated ('91), from a limited edition of 13/20, produced in Japan and in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
An exceptional opportunity to acquire a rare work by Tsuyoshi Maekawa, a leading second-generation member of the legendary Japanese avant-garde collective, the Gutai Art Association.
This vibrant color silkscreen, created in 1991, perfectly captures Maekawa's signature aesthetic. While he is world-renowned for his "donogoro" (burlap) sackcloth reliefs, this graphic work translates that powerful tactile energy into a sophisticated geometric composition.
Key Highlights:
Prestigious Provenance: Maekawa’s works are held in major international permanent collections, including Tate Modern (London), The National Museum of Art (Osaka), and many others across Europe and Asia.
Extremely Rare Edition: This piece is numbered 13/20. Such a low edition count is highly sought after by serious collectors and is much rarer than typical 100+ edition prints.
Hand-Signed: Authenticated with the artist's original pencil signature and date ("'91") in the bottom right margin.
Vibrant Condition: The colors remain remarkably fresh and vivid.
