Elegant Savonarola chair with at the end of the armrests two knobs, with rings, on the seat a purple velvet cushion that adds greater elegance to the object. Made, by Florentine artists in beech wood.
Made in the middle of the 20th century in Italy, precisely in the Tuscan region.
The Savonarola, is a folding chair, foldable like a book and constituted by serpentine curved elements and cross X.
The term "Savonarola" derives from the name Girolamo Savonarola (1452 - 1498), in whose time the chair of this type would still be preserved in his cell at the San Marco convent in Florence, where he lived from 1482 to his death.
In excellent overall condition,
The chair has recently been treated with anti-tarlo
The object will be shipped with a tracking code.
