Silk - Japan - 20th century

Japanese kimono for a young girl.
100% silk. Dating to the mid-20th century.
Handmade.
For ages 10–14.
There is a gathering at the shoulder and bust width, which allows the kimono to be made a bit wider and thus worn longer.
In the last photo you can see that the thread of the gathering pleat has come a little loose.
That shows how the construction works.
This kimono is somewhat older, bought in Japan in the 1970s and at the time was already second-hand or vintage.
Here and there a thread is loose, but there are no real defects.
