Alloy sculpture titled Rostros de Amantes, dating to 1960–1970, from Spain, in good used condition, with dimensions 20 cm high, 14 cm wide and 10 cm deep.
Description from the seller
This bronze sculpture from the second half of the 20th century possesses a powerful and deeply expressive presence. Two human faces, fragmented and superimposed, are integrated into a vertical composition that plays with void, shadow and emotional tension. The upper face, incomplete and open at its frontal part, seems to emerge or fade, as if it were an echo of memory or identity. The lower, more defined, tilts upward in a gesture of search, introspection or longing.
The bronze, worked with a dark patina and golden accents, enhances the volumes and textures, creating contrasts that bring drama and depth. The golden areas illuminate the contours and suggest movement, almost as if the light sprang from within the very material. The deliberate fragmentation of the faces, together with the verticality of the piece, gives it a contemporary and symbolic aura, very typical of late 20th-century European sculpture, where the human figure was reinterpreted from emotion and abstraction.
It is a work that invites slow contemplation: it speaks of identity, of duality, of what is shown and what is hidden. A piece with character, capable of becoming the focal point of any space due to its aesthetic strength and its poetic charge.
Insured shipping and careful packaging.
