Description from the seller
Created for Goldorak’s 50th anniversary, this poster pays homage to one of the most emblematic robots in popular culture.
Halfway between Japanese tradition and contemporary pop culture, the piece fuses the mythical iconography of Goldorak with a composition inspired by Japanese prints, with Mount Fuji in the background.
The number 50 (1975–2025) is a strong temporal marker, symbolizing five decades of influence, nostalgia and intergenerational transmission. The line work is deliberately graphic and unabashed, blending respect for the myth with contemporary artistic interpretation.
This limited edition is conceived as a collectible piece, aimed at fans of Japanese culture, of cult robots and of narrative pop art.
Edition details:
– Limited edition to 100 copies
- Certificate of authenticity
- Signed and numbered (Number 05/100)
– Printed on 300 g/m² art paper
– Format A3 – 42 × 29.7 cm (ISO)
– Work sold unframed
– Ideal for collectors and Goldorak fans
A homage creation, both respectful and modern, celebrating a timeless legend of Japanese animation.
- ARTIST BIO:
SKE is a self-taught French artist and all-rounder who grew up in the 80s/90s culture, inspiring a large portion of his artistic work.
He continually explores new techniques: acrylic painting, collage, stenciling, graffiti, urban installations and digital art. His dynamic and expressive compositions, often with double meanings, blend the raw energy of street art with the visual impact of pop art.
After an exceptional year in 2025, SKE’s market value has risen noticeably. Winner of the first prize at the Urban Master contest (2023), then elected Artist of the Year at the Color Jam Challenge (2025). SKE was selected as a "Featured Artist of the Month" by the Opulence gallery in October, and he has also been featured in an American art magazine, confirming his international recognition.
His works have already been exhibited in major venues in Europe, the United States and Asia, consolidating his place on the contemporary art scene. In parallel, SKE is making a mark in the digital art market, a major trend of the past two years, strengthening the appeal of his creations to collectors.
Icons of popular culture, bold graphics and texture play define a style that has become indispensable.
SKE is undoubtedly an artist to watch, to start or enrich a collection with rising value.
Awarded & Acclaimed Artist – Pop Art & Contemporary Street Art
A UNIVERSE BETWEEN HERITAGE AND MODERNITY SKE’s work sits in a prestigious lineage. His linework carries the visual efficiency of Keith Haring and Andy Warhol, while incorporating the subversion of Banksy or the pioneer Blek le Rat. His works bridge eras: they revisit the classics, not hesitating to remix the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci, Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring, Hokusai’s The Great Wave, or Picasso’s deconstructed forms to align them with a modern urban aesthetic close to Mr Brainwash or Kaws.
POP CULTURE & NOSTALGIA Drawing from the collective imagination, SKE manipulates icons from our childhood. He stages Disney’s universe with figures like Mickey or Pinocchio, and the symbolic greed of Scrooge McDuck. The influence of gaming, comics and graphic novels is omnipresent: from the Nintendo universe and the legendary Game Boy to Pokemon creatures (Pikachu, Charizard, Ash), and the Marvel Super Heroes. SKE crystallizes these memories in the manner of Daniel Arsham or Takashi Murakami.
LUXURY, HYPE & CONSUMER SOCIETY In a style that sometimes recalls Alec Monopoly, the artist plays with codes of success and materialism. The Dollar symbol sits beside logos of luxury and fashion giants. His canvases capture the “Hype” aesthetics: the sneaker world (Nike Air Jordan, Adidas, Off-White) and haute couture (Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Louboutin). He also integrates automotive adrenaline (Ferrari, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG) and precision watchmaking (Rolex, Tag Heuer), not to mention mass consumer icons like Coca-Cola. It’s vibrant art, with textured finishes that sometimes evoke the glossy surface of Jeff Koons or the facets of a Richard Orlinski.
This work is ideal for enriching a collection or adding a dynamic touch to your interior.
