Description from the seller

This is a finely crafted travel chess set made of bone from the 1920s-1940s. The pieces are made of bone and individually hand-carved/turned in the St. George pattern. Despite the small size, they are produced with excellent detail. Because of the handwork, there are some differences between the same pieces. One side is in a natural color, the other side is dyed red. The set is supplied in a folding wooden chessboard. The top (chessboard) is inlaid with natural veneer. The surface of the board is coated with varnish.

Condition:
The set is in good vintage condition. The pieces have been well preserved, no visible breaks or cracks. The board looks good for its age with a few small signs of aging. The clasp/hinge is in good condition.

Dimensions:
Dimensions of the chessboard (open): 12.5 x 12.5 cm / approx. 5 x 5 inches.
Height of the pieces: 2.5 cm - 4 cm (king), measured with the pins.
