Alabaster sculpture known as 'The Thorn Puller' after the original antique model. The 'Tireur d'épine' (in Italian 'Spinario') is a sculpture from the Hellenistic period dating to the 1st century BC. In Italy, there are several copies, the oldest of which is on display in the Hall of Triumphs of the Palace of Conservators (Capitoline Museums) in Rome. It depicts a young boy, legs crossed, pulling a thorn from his foot. This sculpture was very popular during the Renaissance and also in the 19th century.
