A very fine antique 4/4 violin, labeled Ferdinandus Gagliano filius Nicolai fecit Neap. 1778. The instrument is in ready to play condition with tears and wears but no cracks, new rosewood set up, new bridge and new strings. The violin has an excellent medium grained spruce of the top and one piece back of interesting flamed maple with matched sides, neck and lion form scroll. Rich golden amber varnish shows an amazing wooden choice. The whole length of the violin is 595 mm and the back 356 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 168 mm; middle bouts: 113 mm; lower bouts: 205 mm. Full size. The sound is very deep, rich, powerful, suitable for soloist. Shipping with DHL worldwide
