Description from the seller
Herend Handpainted Porcelain Tea Set with Floral and Faunal Motif
Elegant white porcelain tea service signed Herend Hungary, finely hand-decorated with refined floral motifs, birds and multicolored butterflies. The service consists of a teapot with lid, a sugar bowl with lid, two cups with their respective saucers, and two small shaped plates.
The surface features delicate relief work with an interwoven pattern on the bodies of the cups and the sugar bowl, enriched by gold borders along the wavy profiles. The naturalistic decorations, executed by hand, depict small birds perched on branches with leaves, insects and flowers in vivid colors, crafted with great precision and attention to detail.
The teapot, with soft and elegant lines, is enhanced by a shaped spout and handle and by a lid knob molded in the form of a flower bud. The mark on the bottom reads “Herend Hungary Handpainted,” confirming Hungarian manufacture.
Era: 20th century.
Manufacture: Herend Hungary.
Material: hand-painted porcelain with gold finishes.
Code: HRTS8392
