Icon - Christ Pantocrator - Wood

Hand-painted icon of Christ Pantocrator, executed in the traditional Byzantine style.
The icon depicts Christ in a frontal pose with a blessing hand and a Gospel book, surrounded by the characteristic Greek inscriptions (IC XC).
The depiction is painted according to classical iconographic rules, with a warm color scheme and a gold-colored background that gives the whole piece a strong visual and spiritual presence.
The panel is made of wood and finished with a gold-colored background (gold leaf or gold leaf imitation), in keeping with the traditional techniques of icon painting.
The lightly raised depiction enhances the iconic character.
On the back there is a certificate referring to traditional manufacture according to Byzantine techniques.
This icon is presumably from Greece and dates to the 20th century. Such icons were often handmade in ateliers that continued the Orthodox painting tradition.
