Description from the seller
The item in the photo is a decorative cigarette case, but it can also serve as a visiting card holder. It is a piece of the Komai type or damascened, characterized by inlays of 24-karat gold on a black oxidized background. Made in an Egyptian style, depicting a scene from the Gate of Karnak.
It is a monumental gate from a temple in Egypt. In the graphic you can see traditional Egyptian reliefs, figures of gods, pharaohs and hieroglyphs. The cigarette case has a glossy black finish, with gold decorations created using engraving or damascening techniques, which gives it an elegant character.
Items of this type were produced in Japan, mainly in the Art Deco period (the 1920s and 1930s of the 20th century), when the fashion for the "Egyptian Revival" style prevailed, stemming from the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922. On the bottom of the cigarette case there is a scene depicting Egyptian gods (Anubis), and hieroglyphs. Similar patterns appeared on other decorative items.
It is fully functional. Its dimensions are 9 cm in length, 8 cm in width and 1.5 cm in height.
Please look carefully at the photos, you will receive the item from the attached photographs. Quick secure shipping via professional courier companies, the item well protected. I will ship promptly after receiving the address.
