Description from the seller
Set of 12 mouth-blown, hand-cut crystal wine glasses. Cylindrical shape slightly flared upward, with a thick, rounded inner base that provides stability and a sense of robustness to the glass. Short, molded stem with a 'scroll' or baluster element, serving as an elegant connector between the cup and the base. Base: Wide and flat, ensures excellent balance, finished with a thin gold profile along the rim. The true protagonist is the ornamental frieze that wraps the upper part: Gold band: A broad strip of fine gold surrounds the glass. Within this band, an engraved floral scroll motif (rinceaux) appears in transparency, creating a contrast between the shiny metal and the glass. Grooves: Above and below the main band, there are thin parallel gold lines that frame the decoration. The rim of the glass is also finished with a fine gold thread. Condition: minor losses to the gilding. Italian manufacture (Empoli, Florence) dating to the mid-20th century. Size: height 11.5 cm x diameter 6.8 cm.
