Description from the seller
Set of 11 mouth-blown, hand-cut crystal flutes. Cylindrical shape, slightly flared upward, with a thick, rounded inner base that provides stability and a sense of robustness to the glass. Short, molded stem with a 'rocchetto' or baluster element, serving as an elegant connector between the cup and the base. Base: broad and flat, ensuring excellent balance, finished with a slim gold profile along the edge. The real protagonist is the ornamental frieze that wraps the upper part: gold band: A wide band of gilt surrounds the glass. Within this band is engraved a floral motif with volutes (rinceaux) in transparency, creating a play of contrasts between the shiny metal and the glass. Fillets: above and below the main band, thin parallel gold lines frame the decoration. The rim of the glass is also finished with a thread of gold. Condition: slight wear to the gilding. Italian manufacture (Empoli, Florence) dating to the mid-20th century. Measurements: height 16.1 cm x diameter 5.4 cm.
