Description from the seller
Tête-à-Tête Service in White Porcelain and 24-Carat Gold – Floral and Celestial Decoration – 1950s –
Refined coffee service for two people (tête-à-tête) in fine porcelain, dating from the mid-20th century (circa the 1950s). The set is distinguished by a luxurious and romantic aesthetic, characterized by a brilliant light blue hue evoking Rococo style, enriched with rich hand-worked 24-carat gold details.
Set Composition (6 pieces):
1 Large Rectangular Tray: With waved edges and decorated corners, dimensions 36 x 14.50 cm.
2 Coffee Cups: With white interior and external decoration.
2 Coordinated Saucers: With shaped edges.
1 Sugar Bowl with lid: Central element completing the service.
Artistic Details:
Decoration: Each piece is adorned with garlands and bouquets of polychrome flowers (roses, anemones and wildflowers) executed with utmost precision.
Gold Work: The rims, handles and bases are entirely finished in 24-carat gold. The transition between the blue celeste color and the white porcelain is mediated by elegant gold lacework (dantel lace motif).
Style: A perfect example of the “Neo-Rococo” taste, very popular in the high-end European manufactories of the 1950s.
