Montblanc Meisterstück 146 Masterpiece fountain pen in black resin with gold-plated fittings, 14K two-tone EF nib, 13.3 cm long and 1.2 cm in diameter, made in Germany in the mid‑20th century, in good used condition with minor signs of wear and a previously repaired cap ring.
Description from the seller
The piece is presented in very good general condition, maintaining the elegance and characteristic presence of a well-kept Montblanc Meisterstück 146 Masterpiece.
The black precious resin preserves a deep, uniform shine. There are slight micro-scratches typical of normal use and age, only visible under direct light or close inspection. No cracks, fissures, or structural deformations are observed in the body or cap.
The gold finishes retain a good tone and aesthetic presence. They show minor signs of use in the most handled areas, consistent with the passage of time.
It is important to note that one of the cap rings (heel) has been repaired in the past. The intervention was performed in a functional and stable manner, correctly adjusted and not affecting use or the proper functioning of the filling system. Aesthetically the repair is discreet and does not compromise the structural integrity of the piece.
The Montblanc emblem at the top is well fitted and in good visual condition.
The ink window appears clean and functional, allowing proper visualization of the ink level.
The solid 14K gold two-tone nib is in excellent structural condition, with no visible deformations or impacts. The tines are aligned and well iridiumed. The feeder maintains defined channels.
The piston-filler system operates smoothly and firmly, completing its travel correctly and ensuring efficient filling.
Overall, this is a fully functional piece, with a well-executed minor repair that preserves its value as a high-end writing instrument.
It will be shipped in a courtesy box for proper preservation.
