Lot of 108 Petits Belges magazines, EO edition, spanning 1940–1942, produced by Jijé and various authors, in good overall condition.
Description from the seller
Rare complete set of 108 original issues of the "Petits Belges", covering the years 1940 to 1942, a period particularly sought after by collectors for its historical context.
Lot details:
21st year (1940)
Nos. 33 to 35 – 5 issues
22nd year (1941)
Nos. 1 to 52 – complete collection (52 issues)
23rd year (1942)
Nos. 1 to 25 + 27, 29 and 31 – 28 issues
32nd year (1942)
Nos. 26, 28 and 30 + Nos. 32 to 52 – 23 issues
Special feature of the year 1942:
In 1942, the magazine adopted a double parallel numbering system (23rd and 32nd year), tied to editorial and historical constraints during the war.
This means that some publications from the same year carry different numbering while being contemporaries, making this lot particularly interesting for collectors wishing to understand or complete this atypical period.
Condition:
The magazines are old and naturally patinated by time, but remain in good overall reading condition.
Possible traces of wear, yellowing or small fragilities, consistent with their age.
Main strengths:
- Substantial and coherent set
- War years difficult to assemble
- 1941 complete
- Historical and collecting interest
Ideal for a collector, antique press enthusiast, or history aficionado.
