Kininvie 23 Year Old, 70 cl, 42.6% ABV, one bottle in original packaging.
Description from the seller
Kininvie is located on the same site as the Balvenie distillery. Production started on July 4, 1990 and in October 2010 the distillery was temporarily closed. This in connection with the coming into operation of the new distillery of Wiliam Grant & Sons, Ailsa Bay. Reportedly, production started again in mid-2012. Kininvie has a 10,000 liter stainless steel mash tun and ten Douglas fir washbacks. The still house contains three wash stills and six spirit stills. These are fully computer-controlled and heated with steam. Kininvie's total capacity is 4.8 million liters, although only 2.2 million liters are produced. This production is fully used for Grant's blends and the popular triple malt Monkey Shoulder. So far, only a handful of bottlings have appeared on the market as single malt, partly under the Hazelwood brand and now three under the actual name Kininvie. All were only available for travel retail.
Tasting note
Color: pale gold. Nose: complex aromas of ripe fruit, vanilla and toffee, with fine floral notes. Taste: silky smooth, notes of sweet vanilla, fresh citrus fruit and orange peels merge with spiciness of oak, especially cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish is long and delicately sweet, with a nice balance between notes of oak and spices.
