Capodimonte porcelain centerpiece, one of the most famous examples of the Italian artistic ceramic tradition.
The piece features the "gondola" shape and is supported by a four-foot base richly decorated.
On the handles sit two cherubs. The central body presents bas-relief countryside scenes, created with the soft-paste technique that gives the ceramic a typical milky appearance.
The undulating edges and the details of the figures are highlighted by precious gold gilding in pure gold, contrasting with the white base and the polychrome colors of the hand-painted scenes.
Item in excellent conservation state — very small flaw on the head of a cherub (as in the photo) — not relevant.
