Description from the seller
This wooden object / box is a handcrafted artwork by the Czech artist Jiří Polák from Prague. Dimensions: 15.5 cm long, 10 cm at the widest point, and 7 cm high. Weight 340 grams.
Decorative storage box: Many of Polák's works from this series are sculptural wooden boxes with a swiveling lid ("swivel lid"). There is a hinged lid on the top of this object, allowing it to be used as a box. Organic and kidney-shaped.
Sculptural object: Jiří Polák is known for his handmade, abstract wooden sculptures often made from walnut or teak. This specimen is made from Jatoba wood (Hymenaea courbaril), a tropical hardwood from Central and South America, notably Brazil. It is also known under the name “Brazilian Cherry” due to its warm color. The heartwood is orange-brown to red-brown and darkens with exposure to light.

The bottom of the object bears the original stamp: "Original Hand Made - Jiří Polák - Prague", including his signature. See photos.
