This Ethiopian Coptic triptych icon, painted entirely by hand, unfolds the intense and colorful spirituality typical of the Ethiopian Christian tradition, one of the oldest and most unique in the world. Carved in wood and articulated into three panels, the ensemble opens like a small portable altar, conceived to accompany daily devotion and to protect sacred images in an intimate, domestic format.
